Typical Tuesdays

A Day in the Life of the Kirk household on a "Typical Tuesday" night.
Lets just head on into the night time shenanigans =)

5:00 pm - Finally off of work and heading on over to pick up Rilynn from my parents house, she stayed the     night there the evening before so I am a extra excited to go pick her up.

6:30 pm - I left my parents house with sleepy baby girl in hand and bags full of groceries, that's one of the       best parts of going back "home", picking through your parents pantry.

6:45 pm - We arrive home. Ryan comes through the garage door hearing us arrive and comes straight away   to swoop up Rilynn in one hand and the groceries in the other. He gets Rilynns favorite show on
//Scooby Doo// && her favorite snack. While I unload groceries and start dinner.

7:30 pm - As dinner comes to finishing up, I take my chance while Rilynn is distracted to run in the bedroom   and change in to some comfy clothes, a top knot, and take my make up off with my usual nightly routine.

8:00 pm - We grab our plates and dig in to some yummy tortellini bake, and Ryan and I discuss our days.

8:15 pm - After we ate Rilynn clearly needed a bath she was pretty much drenched in marinara, So Ryan had
bath duty and I had dish duty, and managed to squeeze in a load of laundry.

9:00 pm - After bath time its time for Rilynns bedtime && tonight I actually got really lucky Ryan was just as   equally tired and has an early morning tomorrow so he went ahead and put Rilynn to sleep for me.               Which meant relaxation time =).

So From 9:00 pm till now I have been Painting my nails (Essies Buttler Please), watching RachelLoves on youtube (That girl is so awesome). I also started to watch Revolution <--I dont know how I feel about it quite yet. If you have seen it does it get better? I also did a wonderful Facial Mask and finishing up with writing this Blog....

&& the moment I hit Publish you bet I am going to bed, this lil mama is exhausted! Hope everyone had a lovely Tuesday and a Happy Hump day to you for tomorrow.

1/52

First Weekend of 2014 is complete && it was actually a lot busier then I thought it was going to be.

+  Friday was Date Night, Oh how I love date night it comes too far and in between, so we jump on the shit when we have the chance. Who wouldn't.

+ Saturday morning we did something we vary rarely do, we went out for breakfast. Ryan usually
always makes breakfast on the weekends, but he woke up looked at me and said "Lets go to Denny's"
&& who can say no to that. The rest of Saturday was spent Organizing our bedroom. Since we didnt have anywhere to be I took total advantage of that.

+ Sunday, OH Sunday. Filled with hanging at Grandma and Papa's, Playing in the leaves, && doing some major shopping..... I mean come on when you have Kohls Cash and a 50% off at Kirklands.
But all around I would say we had a nice relaxing weekend to start the New Years off.
How was yours?

Five on Friday // 2014

Well happy First Friday and weekend to come of the year :)
Hope everyone had an amazing New Years and Christmas Season
its weird to think that Christmas is over? Is it just me or did that
just go by way to quickly?
I am not going to lie, I am kind of at a lost with what
to talk about for my 5 on Friday so please allow me to Ramble on........

New Years Eve- we did a whole lot of nothing...Steak dinner, movies,
watching fireworks and I actually didn't even have a sip of alcohol [weird I know]

Laundry- I hate Laundry, that's when I wish I had a maid. F**k Laundry

Bath and Body works- Okay have you guys seen the deals! there is something
about a sale that makes my little heart flutter, but the semi-annual sale.. no words.

Hair Cut- Rilynn had her first Hair cut ..... because yes I jacked up her bangs
by cutting them to "try" to help her have them out of her eyes, whoops.
she did awesome for her first time, && a little frightened as you can tell.

Bloggers- I came across lex's Blog at He and I and let me tell you I could not stop
reading her Fun, Colorful, Full of life blog I fell in love with it and not to mention
her adorable little one. If  I was you I would check it out! you will not be disappointed!

Healthy Eating 1 // Chicken Caprese

Yes its true I am one of those people
the ones that always strive to have the
"lose weight, get healthy" New Years Resolution
&& I do plan on sticking to this....finally the 3rd year in
a row.... don't judge me I have a thing for anything frosted.
its just so damn delicious! &&A thing for
Martinis which also doesn't help, considering
both things make my ass grow.

So to help me on my wonderful Resolution
I need to find easy quick and not to difficult reciepes to follow.
Like this one that I found from // Gimme some Oven // <-- love the name
so clever! It makes me giggle. when I say it :) Its the little things in life people.

{Chicken Caprese}

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pounded to uniform thickness
  • 1/2 cup good-quality balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cups grape or cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella, torn into small pieces
  • 1 cup lightly-packed fresh basil, torn

Method:

To Make The Chicken:
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. (You will know that it is ready when the oil is shimmering, or it sizzles when you place a drop of water in the oil.) Add the chicken and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the juices run clear. Remove chicken and set aside.

To Make The Balsamic Reduction:
Heat balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan over medium-high heat until boiling. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10-15 minutes until reduced by half. Remove and set aside.

To Assemble The Dish:
Plate the chicken, then top with sliced tomatoes, mozzarella and basil. Drizzle with the balsamic reduction. Serve warm.
